The Department of Anaesthesia provides anaesthetic services for approximately 12500 cases per year.  All adult non-obstetric specialities are covered including neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery.  We have a large Day of Surgery Admission programme and Day Procedure Unit, supported by an outpatient Pre-Admission Clinic. 

Other services provided by the Anaesthesia Department include the Acute Pain Service, Intravascular Therapy Service and the Anaesthetic Adverse Drug Reaction Clinic.
